A Service Of Blessing After A Civil Marriage

The breakdown of marriage is a sad reality today, and we are aware of the pain that many divorcees feel at being unable to remarry in Church. However, recognising this fact the Church of England has created a service with this situation in mind and allows couples to come and renew their vows and promises within the context of a Church service (to which friends and family can be invited) and to pray for God's richest blessing upon their marriage.

This service’s most recent ‘high profile’ participants were his HRH the Prince of Wales and Mrs Parker Bowles who were married in a civil marriage and then followed it by going to St Georges Chapel, Windsor Castle.

• You are attending our church regularly.

• You are willing to attend a marriage preparation course (which all wedding couples attend.)
