The All Saints Walking Group Celebrated its First Steps on Saturday 10TH March in Blazing Sunshine.

The sun beamed down on the newly formed All Saints Walking Group as it celebrated its first steps on Saturday, March 10, with a launch event from 10.00am to 1.00pm at The All Saints Church Hall, Magpie Hall Road, Chatham.  A free lunch and goody bags were provided to all walkers, which contained a range of healthy snacks and pedometers.  4Life were also at hand, providing free health checks to all at the launch.

The event – in association with Walking the Way to Health Initiative and the All Saints Community Project saw over 50 walkers take part in the first walks.  Qualified walk leader, Susan Stowers, lead the 5KM route and Fretha Biggs lead the 2KM.  One of the walkers who commented on the 5KM route said “it was such a creative walk, raising awareness of the rural aspects previously unknown – a great pace for beginners and a lovely social aspect”.

Monthly walks will take place every second Saturday.  The walks are open to all, with beginners particularly welcome.  The next walk is on Saturday 14th April from the All Saints Centre, Magpie Hall Road, Chatham.  Registration is at 10.00am and the walk starts at 10.30am.  For further information regarding the Walking Group please contact Linda Fiddyment, All Saints Project Manager on: 01634 845419 or linda.allsaintscp@googlemail.com.
